How Lemon Law Claims Actually End

A successful California lemon law claim can end in a manufacturer buyback, a replacement vehicle, or a cash and keep settlement where you keep the car and receive compensation. Which of the three applies depends on the vehicle, the defect and the repair history. The Lemon Pros work on a fee-shifting basis, so there is nothing to pay up front.

Trust the process. Suzy and Anthony were able to get me a buy back from GM after constant issues with the transmission. Suzy was patient explaining everything and returned my calls/emails/text within 24hrs. She’s the best. Anthony (Tony) was straight forward and did everything he could to get me my money. No BS, or changes at the end. It’s a process but they know what they are doing. Delivered on everything he promised. Thank you for all the help and it was worth the wait. I was able to get a new car because of you guys.

The Lemon pros Worked with me During a time, I’m in my life, where I was going through a lot of transitions. They were professional, and very patient as I was not always disposable or able to find paperwork for my claim. It was not overnight, but when the day came for The Lemon pros to negotiate my settlement, It was a glorious outcome. I Told the Lemon pros get me at least $10,000 and I’ll be Happy, And what did they do? They hit the ball out of the park!!!! and got me a settlement of $17,500!!!! And I got The Check without amount to prove it!!! Thanks, Lemon pros!!!!!

How Our Lemon Law Results Work

We have handled thousands of California Lemon Law claims. Depending on the case, a successful claim can end in a manufacturer buyback, a replacement vehicle, or a cash-and-keep settlement where you keep the car and receive compensation. What your case is worth depends on your purchase price, how far you drove before the first repair, your loan balance, and the taxes and fees you paid.

We work on a fee-shifting basis, so you pay nothing up front and nothing unless we recover for you. Under the California Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act, the manufacturer is generally responsible for your reasonable attorney fees and costs when your claim succeeds.

Frequently Asked Questions

In one of three ways: the manufacturer repurchases the vehicle, replaces it with a comparable one, or pays a cash settlement while you keep the car.
You keep the vehicle and receive compensation for the defect and the reduction in the car's value, rather than handing it back. It suits owners who want to carry on driving it.
The purchase price, plus taxes, registration and finance charges, less a mileage offset for the distance driven before the defect was first reported.
Nothing up front. The Song-Beverly Act's fee-shifting provision requires the manufacturer to pay your reasonable attorney fees and costs on a successful claim.
Three to six months is common from demand to resolution. Cases where the manufacturer disputes the repair history take longer.
Rarely. Most claims settle after a written demand and negotiation, including many where a suit has been filed.

Your rights are the same whichever manufacturer built the car. What varies is how quickly a particular manufacturer settles and how it approaches repurchases.
Yes, where a manufacturer's or dealer's warranty was in force when the defect appeared. Leased vehicles carry the same protection as purchased ones.
The repair orders from every visit, your purchase or lease agreement, and the warranty documents. The repair orders matter most, because they evidence the attempts.
